We’ve been using this sound monitor for 5 years now, and it has been utterly dependable. There have been only two drawbacks: (1) The range is not all that great. With our daughter’s room at one side of the house, and our room at the other, we have had to move the pickup unit to far wall of her bedroom so it will be as close as possible to ours. (2) There are 9 channels on our older model. When we started using this 5 years ago, any channel worked fine. But, times change, and there is a lot more RF interference: it will occasionally pick up our neighbor’s cell phone conversations (not that interesting!); and the background suppression is now being affected by something—we haven’t quite figured out what. Having the full 27 channels this model offers is doubtless an improvement over the version we have.
