I absolutely love this monitor! My Sony Baby Call monitor was giving me so much static, interference and beeping noises that I had to find something else. I found out my cable company runs on the same 900 mHz frequency as the Sony monitor, so I decided to buy a digital monitor. I also wanted to peace of mind to see my daughter in her crib. What a difference!! The clarity of sound is so clear, and the screen is plenty big to see my daughter. I also like being able to turn the video screen off, but still keep the sound on when I go to sleep. The only negative I can think of, is that the blue light on the part with the camera is pretty bright in the crib, so I just taped a piece of cardboard over it. No problem! I got this product to work, in the 3rd trimester, by using the waistband of my low maternity pants to hold it low on my belly (it can’t be overly tight, though). Using your hand won’t work; too much interference. It has to be low on the belly, too…really low. Like between your hip bones low, with the microphone part pointed downward. When you get it in the right place and hold it on without using your hand, you can definitely hear the baby’s heartbeat. It sounds like what you’d hear through a stethoscope (not like the OB’s doppler thing). I really enjoyed using this during my 3rd trimester. I absolutely love this monitor!!!! We were very hesitant to move our 7 1/2 month old out of our bedroom and into his own room, but having the monitor made the transition so much easier. The nursery is on the opposite side of the house and I worried that the monitor would not work well–I was wrong! The signal is strong with interference only when someone stands directly in front of the monitor. I keep the 7″ flat screen on my nightstand and the hand held unit is oh so handy too! The audio is so sensitive that I can even hear my baby breathing.

I have a 2 and a half year old daughter, and have had this product since day one. It is wonderful to be able to see her, and know she is okay. I advise every parent to get one, or one like it. The major flaw that I have had with it is the AC Adapters are badly made the wires come loose (in the casing) and the Adapter stops working. I have tried every universal adapter from walmart, and radio shack, and becuase of the way it is made none of them fit, the only option is to purchase the replacment adapter from the summer infant website. It is .99, and takes a couple of weeks to arrive, so be forwarned you have to do without a monitor for the period of time that the AC Adapter takes to arrive. Several of my friends who have the same product have had this problem, and this is my 3rd Adapter since first getting the monitor.
